And that is the real question. No extension means the B12 is done as a
true P5 league. If UT and OU are not willing to sign on for an extension then I would expect the top half of the league to start looking elsewhere. Delaying the inevitable is possible I guess but I doubt schools would be silent during the process. I honestly have paid zero attention to who they may add because ultimately it doesn't matter if they don't extend the GOR.
Sidebar, I think there is room for a second tier conference within the P5 structure. This could be the future B12 with schools like Boise State, Fresno State, ECU, UCF competing in a conference with some football only members. The other four conferences would certainly be seen as the true power conferences but would allow more schools access (however difficult it would be) to the playoff.
